Prenatal Yoga
As we know it's important to incorporate regular exercise into our lives especially when pregnant. This is easier said than done. A key to making the practice stick is finding a form of exercise you enjoy! Take a walk around your neighborhood...five minutes is better than nothing! Find a friend and head out to the mall in the morning and window shop while you do laps.
Personally, I love a good yoga practice! According to Mayo Clinic studies have shown that yoga during pregnancy can:
- Improve sleep
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
- Decrease lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches and shortness of breath
- Decrease the risk of preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension and intrauterine growth restriction — a condition that slows a baby's growth
I found this free video on YouTube and just knew I had to share! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
